In the Oberennstal in the Styria region is the small ski holiday village Donnersbachwald. Donnersbachwald lies within the ski area of the Riesneralm. For snowboarders, there is usually enough fresh snow to enjoy in the valley. The village Donnersbachwald is nice for a vacation with the kids and the ski school is entirely focused on various levels to help you enjoy the Riesneralm to the fullest.

The slopes of Donnersbach (the Planneralm) and Donnersbachwald (Riesneralm) are the overall ski area of Oberennstal. The Riesneralm offers a total of 25km of slopes (3km black, red 7km and 15km blue). Additionally, there is a natural toboggan run of up to 6 km! The Planneralm also offers about 15km of slopes (2km black, 11km red and 2km blue).

The apres-ski in Donnersbachwald is limited to a few restaurants, of which the most sociable are at the top of the slopes of the Riesneralm. For a more wild après-ski Donnerbachswald is no real winner, but it's still a pleasant skiing destination for a family holiday...
