In the Pillerseetal, near the well-known Fieberbrunn lies the small ski village Hochfilzen. Hochfilzen has beautiful wide slopes, and forms the base for the ski resorts St. Jacob, Fieberbrunn, St. Ulrich and Waidring.
Hochfilzen is also a fantastic destination for cross country skiers in Austria, the tracks from this area provide access to the famous regional trail and it offers almost every year the location for a major biathlon (biathlon-hochfilzen.at)

Because of the good snow conditions, Pillerseetal offers more than 90 kilometers of slopes. The Pillerseetal is known as a very family - and child-friendly ski resort. The sloping hills down into the valley are fine for the first antics in the snow. The more than 90 kilometers of tracks are unlocked by 30 modern lifts. There are challenging mogul slopes, carving routes and perfect family friendly slopes. The ski slopes are divided over the ski sectors around Fieberbrunn, Waidring-Steinplatte and the Buchsteinwand.

Fieberbrunn offers a first-class snowboard park on the Waidringer Steinplatte. It offers ample opportunities for snowboarders and freestylers, with a halfpipe and several funparks.
