About 85 hectares of the Pitztal ski area are on the Pitztaler glacier. It is spread out over 28 kilometers of groomed ski slopes: 6 kilometers blue ski runs, 17 kilometers red ski runs and 5 kilometers black. The ski slopes are accessible through 3 lifts, 1 chairlift and 2 cabin lifts and a Mountain train. For snowboarders there is 1 halfpipe, 1 fun park and a freestyle park. The funpark is suitable for novice and more advanced skiers and snowboarders aswell. The cross country skiers can visit the 6 kilometer groomed Höhenloipe. (height = 2600 meters). The ski season on the Pitztaler glacier begins around mid September and runs until the end of May.

More than 80 kilometers of excellently groomed slopes and 69 kilometer cross-country ski trails are available via 21 lifts (gondola-seat and lifts). Therefore there are no long queues at the ski lifts in the Pitztal. The 21 lifts are spread across the three sub-areas St. Leonhard im Pitztal, Hochenheich and Rifflsee. Cross-country skiing can be done on the Talloipe (21 kilometers prepared) on the Rifflsee-Höhenloipe (5 kilometers prepared) and the Höhenloipe glacier (6 miles prepared). In the Pitztal is also the highest cable car in Austria, the Pitz-Panoramabahn (3440 meters).

The apres ski heart of the Pitztal is located in the district Mandarfen, close to the Rifflsee lifts. There are certainly no unlimited possibilities, but it is perfect for those who love love the pleasant atmosphere here. There are 8 to 10 restaurants and bars in this area. Besides the predominantly Italian restaurants, there are also a few local restaurants. There are further 8 cozy apres ski possibilities, including 3 with a terrace. For the real party animals there are a number of discotheques and nightclubs.
