In the ski area Joglland in Styria, lies the ski holiday village St. Jakob im Walde. St. Jakob im Walde has a small ski area with only a few kilometers of ski slopes. There is a small but nice Snowpark, the F2 East Park for snowboarders. The east-Alpine ski pass allows you to try out all ski areas during your winter holiday.

The total Joglland area is separated in 4 ski resorts, each with only a few kilometers of slopes. The total length of the slopes in these 4 ski resorts is 18 kilometers. (this is 13km blue, red 4.5 km and 0.5 km only black) The breakdown is: The slopes around Hauereck: 3 km blue 1.5 km red black 0.5 km (3 draglifts) area of Strallegg: 3 km red runs (2 draglifts) The ski resort of Wenigzell: 2 km blue slopes (2 drag lifts and a babylift) at St. Jakob im Walde ski area: 1 km of blue slopes, 3 km of red slopes (2 t-bar lifts, and 2 chairlifts) The ski area at Monichwald: 1 km blue slopes, 4 km red runs (2 t-bar lifts, and 2 chairlifts). In addition to these different tracks, the region is also famous for its cross-country trails: The Joglland-Loipe (in 2006 rewarded as the most beautiful track of Austria) and the Waldheimat-Loipe are the most famous.

The apres-ski in St. Jakob im Walde is poor. For a skiing holiday together with the family, this is a nice village, however!
