At the edge of the Parc National du Mercantour, in the Alpes Maritimes is the beautiful village Auron. Auron, named after St. Erige a holy priest. In the village you'll find both low build charming chalets as well as large appartment buildings, but these hasn't interfered with the villages' charm. Aprt from Auron, the area around this ski resort also includes Saint Etienne de Tinee.

Les stations du Mercantour as Auron and Isola 2000 are known, are not directly connected. Both ski resorts have relatively small ski areas with slopes that are very suitable for families.
