The Ski resort of Les Rousses is in the highest part of the Jura near the Swiss border. Les Rousses consists of 4 small villages : Les Rousses, Prémanon, Lamoura and Bois d'Amont. In this area time seems to have stood still. During the winter, the local craftsmen and farmers still live in full harmony with nature.

There is a nice snow park for snowboarders, recently constructed in Les Rousses.

There are three major ski schools around Les Rousses:the ESF Lamoura - the French ski school.the ESI - international ski school, and the ESS des Rousses Pre-manon-Bois d Amont.
