Reviews in Sestrière

The modern ski village Sestrière is situated at the foot of Monte Banchetta in Piedmont in the Italian Alps on the border with France. Sestriere is by far the most famous winter sports village of the ski area Via Lattea. Sestriere stretches across the subvillages Sises, Banchetta and Fraitève. Sestriere was also one of the locations of the Olympic Games in Turin of 2006 of course this is where the superG and slalom races for the men were held. As several executives from the Agnelli family more or less built Sestriere from the ground up, the village is not the most old-fashioned, or has the most attractive appearance, but the facilities in Sestriere are great, and the ski area is a clear winner in Italy!

Pisteinformatie Via Lattea - Sestrière

More than 120 lifts give access to more than 400 km of ski slopes. You will have a hard job to ski through the whole area in 1 week. The various ski resorts are usually closer by ski than by car. A large part of the slopes are designed for beginners and intermediate skiers. There are relatively few black ski slopes, but in such a large ski area even the most experienced skiers will find their challenge.

Sestrière is not one of the busiest après-ski destinations in Italy and after a day of skiing the main action is around the slopes. The best moments start only really late in the evening in the discotheques. The absolute winner in Sestrière is the Al Kovo that is open until late into the night.
