About Lacu Rosu

Lacu Rosu is located in the Suhardul Mare Massif in the Carpathians, Romania. Lacu Rosu (the red lake) is a naturally formed lake at about 900 meter altitude. As the literal name suggests this lake often has a red glow caused by the radiation of the sun and the altitude. The lake is flanked by the mountains: the Hasmas, the Giurgeu, the Tarcau and the Suhard.
