Ernen is located near the famous Aletsch in Valais in Switzerland. Ernen has a small local ski area: Ernergalen. There is about 20km trails. With 4 lifts and especially red slopes, this is a typical ski resort for families. In addition to the local ski area you can ski at the Aletschgletscher through the ski area around the Fiescheralp.

The Aletsch offers a large variety of trails for every level skier or snowboarder. The small ski areas like in Bellwald, Brig, Goms / Oberwald, and Ernen Binn offer a modest ski area with a number of lifts with red slopes. Blatten-Belalp has a total of 20 km slopes for all levels (blue / red / black) and is therefore the most diverse. Riederalp-Bettmeralp-Fiescheralp has more than 100 km of slopes which are blue and red. Enormously challenging black runs around the Blatten-Belalp and the Aletsch Glacier (Riederalp-Bettmeralp-Fiescheralp) make the area popular with experienced skiing and snowboarding fans.

The terraces of the Schneebar and Berghaus Chaserstatt in Ernen are very nice. Further more there is a lot of choice in restaurants in this small village.

Snowboarden in Ernen

The area offers a wide variety of snowboarding possibilities, with three different fun parks, two boarder crosses, four halfpipes, and two quarterpipes!.Because these facilities are spread out among the various participating ski areas, we recommend that snowboarders use the slopes around Riederalp-Bettmeralp-Fiescheralp, where the bulk of these facilities can be found!
