The ski holiday village Saas Almagell lies in the Saastal in Valais, only a few kilometers from the slightly larger Saas-Grund. Saas Almagell is the smallest village in the valley, located near the reservoir on the edge of the valley. With a small private ski resort of something more than 10km, the village is especially popular with families with children. The ski bus to Saas-fee is free.

With 13 snow-capped mountains over 4,000 meters high, this area is perhaps the most snow-certain throughout Switzerland. On Allalin, one of the mountains you can ski naturally year-round, and lower in the village, where snow cannons and machines produce snow, both offer almost the exact same snow report. This ski area is for the serious skier, with red and black ski runs and a multitude of off-piste possibilities. On top of the Feeglacier, it is a real mecca for the experienced skiing or snowboarding fans.

There is no real Apres-ski in Saas Almagell. Still, you can enjoy one of the fine restaurants, and the terrace on top of the mountain.

Because of the many snow-making machines around this boarder park, there is enough snow, even in the off-season to go snowboarding in the Saastal.
