The ski holliday village Saas-Grund is located in the Saastal in Valais in Switzerland, near the much better known Saas-Fee. Saas-Grund is the only village in the Saastal that is not free of cars, but certainly no less attractive. Saas-Grund has a wonderful authentic center, and has the most hours of sunshine of all villages in the valley. For families with children it is a popular destination, and the advantage is that Saas-Grund is a lot better priced than the rest of the villages in the valley.

With 13 snow-capped mountains over 4,000 meters high, this area is perhaps the most snow-certain throughout Switzerland. On Allalin, one of the mountains you can ski naturally year-round, and lower in the village, where snow cannons and machines produce snow, both offer almost the exact same snow report. This ski area is for the serious skier, with red and black ski runs and a multitude of off-piste possibilities. On top of the Feeglacier, it is a real mecca for the experienced skiing or snowboarding fans.

The apres-ski in Saas-Grund is a lot quieter then in Saas-Fee, the terraces on top of the mountain provide the most fun. The restaurants in Saas-Grund and vary from of a quick bite to the most elaborate haute-cuisine.

Especially in the ski resort Saas-Fee, snowboarders can go all the way, with the snow park, Mittel, and a huge variety in off-piste and snow powder possibilities! Because of the many snow-making machines around this boarder park, there is enough snow, even in the off-season to go snowboarding in the Saastal.
