The ski resort Splügen is located in the ski area Viamala in the region/canton Graubünden. The sunny ski resort of Splügen lies close to the border with Italy at the foot of the impressive Pizzo Tambo. In the wintertime the area is especially popular with hikers and cross-country skiers.

The area has seven beautiful ski runs in the vicinity of Splugen, with a total of 30 km. The Bergbahnen Splügen Tambo has a modern gondola that will take you all the way to 2,200 meters in altitude. Ski areas in the vicinity of Tschappina-Urmein-Thusis and close to Sarn-Heinzenberg have about another 20 km of runs each.

There are a number of ski schools in each area, but the Swiss Ski and Snowboard School Splügen is by far the largest. Smaller ski schools in the area are: the Schneesportschule Tschappina, and the ski school Snowfactory Tschappina. The Swiss Ski and Snowboard School Splügen offers class- and private lessons (on request) for a beginner in skiing or snowboarding. Also skitours are possible or snowshoeing, but only on request.
